Glad you ambled on over to my page! Enjoy the sights!

Tales of the Trails our Tails (what little is there of course)

I really like to travel, as do all of the Reds at Red Rover. Between flyball tournaments and trips with the Grumparents, we've gone to all sorts of fun places. I decided to put together a page of great places for dogs to visit!

Canine Country Camp

Mom taught flyball at this camp in New York state this past summer (2007) and we all enjoyed it so much! Acres upon acres of wooded trails to hike, meadows for us dogs to run free in and creeks and ponds for splashing and swimming! We thought they were in heaven. The best part about this camp, is that it all supports the good work of Glen Highland Farm, a rescue refuge for homeless border collies. Since all of us at Red Rover were homeless at some point, we like to try and help other homeless doggies when we can! Definitely try to get up there next summer!

Canine Country Camp updated their website this year...so check out the new site, and all of the great pictures of the Red Rover dogs! Just spot the red dogs throughout the site, and it'll be us!

Key West Dog Beach

One of my favorite spots in the entire world. Key West is very dog-friendly, and well-behaved dogs are allowed just about everywhere. Ripley and I have visited twice, and enjoyed trips to the dog beach, the Key West Aqarium (how many other dogs have gotten to watch sharks swim around below them or say hi to a sea turtle?), and to the Sunset Festival at Mallory Square. The weather is always perfect for swimming at the beach, and the waves are usually low...just right for fetching tennis balls. (I don't like big waves...Ripley does, he body-surfs in on them!)

Emerald Isle, NC

This is the yearly trip Ripley and I get to take with the Grumparents (they take their RV down to the beach each summer). The beach at Emerald Isle is dog-friendly even during the busy, tourist season...we have to be on-leash of course. But a nice long-line means disc throwing on the beach. Swimming through the waves to retrieve balls is easy with the long-line too!
